Biography of a statesman
Alikhan Mukhamediyevich Baimenov (born 25 March 1959, Karsakpay settlement, Ulytau District, Karaganda Region) is a statesman and public figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan and holds a Candidate of Sciences degree in Engineering. In 1981 he graduated from Karaganda Polytechnic Institute with a qualification in mechanical engineering. In 1988 he completed postgraduate studies at the Moscow Automobile and Road Institute, defending his dissertation for the Candidate of Sciences degree in Engineering.
Alikhan Mukhamediyevich Baimenov’s personal collection has historical, sociopolitical and scholarly value. It may include documents reflecting his governmental, public, scholarly and international activities: official documents, materials relating to official duties, reports, speeches, analytical materials, correspondence, publications, photographs, award documents and other materials illustrating the life and professional activities of the collection’s creator.
Alikhan Mukhamediyevich Baimenov made a significant contribution to improving public administration and the civil service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, developing social policy, introducing modern civil service principles and advancing international cooperation in public administration. He is the author of scholarly works and publications on public administration, the civil service, social policy and management.
The documents in the personal collection are a valuable source for studying the establishment and development of the civil service, public administration and sociopolitical processes in the Republic of Kazakhstan from the late twentieth century through the first quarter of the twenty-first century.
